Paper quality for envelopes

Find out what paper types you can use for your envelopes.

We want to be able to handle your letters safely and efficiently. We have therefore set some recommended minimum limits for paper quality for envelopes and cards.

Envelope quality
Minimum 60 g/m2

Card quality
Minimum 180 g/m2

Fluorescence
It is no problem to use fluorescent envelopes. (This has previously been a challenge technically for PostNord’s sorting machines, but the issue has now been resolved).

You are also welcome to print with shine and coating. And it is also possible to cover your letter with film.

If you are designing an envelope with a special layout and print, we recommend that you contact us for possible testing and approval. This ensures that we can sort the letters using a machine.
