How do i calculate volume weight?
Here is how you calculate volume weight
(Length in meters x width in meters x height in meters) x 280 kg/m3 = volume weight
Example: If you have a parcel, that weighs 2 kg and has the dimensions 0.5 m x 0.26 m x 0.29 m, you calculate the volume weight like this:
(0.50 m x 0.26 m x 0.29 m) = 0.0377 m3 x 280 kg/m3 = 10.556 kg
If the parcel's volume weight is larger than it's physical weight, the price is set according to the volume weight. The parcel in the example above will therefore be charged accordung to it's volume weight of 10.556 kg.
If a parcel exceeds the maximum dimensions and weight for the recipeint country, it will be returned to sender, usually within a week, and a fee will be charged. For international parcels under 35 kg the fee will match the sending fee. Read more in the terms and conditions for Parcels.

Do you offer compensation?
We offer compensation coverage of up to 4,800 DKK regardless of destination.
If you need to send parcels with a value over 4,800 DKK., they must be sent either with the additional service Value or you can take out a transport insurance.
Value
If your parcel contains valuable items such as cash, travel checks, credit cards, bearer bonds, precious metals (platinum, gold, silver), gemstones, jewelry, watches, jewels, pearls, furs, carpets, artworks, gift cards, tickets, or similar with a value over 4,800 DKK, it must be sent with the service Value. The value of the contents must not exceed 30,000 DKK per parcel. You can send parcels with the service Value to Denmark, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland.
For other destinations, you can purchase a Value shipment on postnord.dk.
Transport insurance
If your parcel contains other valuable contents than stated under "Value," you can send it with the service Transport Insurance.
Transport insurance can be taken out for each individual parcel – regardless of whether you are sending within Denmark, the Nordic countries, Europe, or the rest of the world. You can insure your parcel up to 100,000 DKK. The insurance is offered in collaboration with PostNord's partner If Forsikring and is subject to the insurance conditions applicable at any given time with If Forsikring. PostNord acts as an insurance intermediary and not as the insurer. The insurance agreement is made directly between you, as the policyholder, and If Forsikring.
If you have taken out transport insurance with your own insurance company, the parcel can be sent as a regular parcel.
Note: Transport insurance cannot be used if the contents of the parcel require it to be sent with the service Value.
