we show climate leadership
We are working to reduce our climate footprint – across our own operations, our suppliers, and ultimately our customers’ value chains. Our targets are concrete and measurable, and we are already well on track to achieving them.
Electric trucks are driving PostNord towards a more sustainable future
PostNord is investing in the electrification of heavy transport as an important step towards a fossil-free future. Electric trucks significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and also improve driver working conditions through lower noise levels, greater comfort, and a better driving experience.
We are also investing in charging infrastructure, including dedicated charging stations that will in the future be available for use by other companies.

Parcels with care
When you choose PostNord, your business also supports Danish organisations working to protect nature, biodiversity, and the climate.
All domestic parcels – B2C, B2B, C2X, and returns – include a climate contribution that goes directly to the Danish Nature Fund (Klimaskovfonden). The fund’s projects reduce CO₂ in Denmark while also creating more nature, biodiversity, and recreational areas.
This contribution is not included in PostNord’s own carbon footprint reporting, but it supports Denmark’s national goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
From diesel to electric in Denmark’s largest cities
PostNord is working towards becoming 100% fossil-free and achieving 80% emissions-free last mile delivery by 2030.
We are replacing diesel vehicles with electric vehicles, primarily in Denmark’s largest cities. In large parts of Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg, and Horsens, delivery is already emissions-free, and with an expected 50% increase in the number of electric vehicles in 2026, we are further expanding this transition.
This shift significantly reduces CO₂ emissions while also improving driver working conditions through lower noise levels and a more comfortable driving experience.
PostNord and NorthSide engage festival guests in the forests of the future
PostNord and NorthSide are both partnering with the Danish Nature Fund (Klimaskovfonden) on a reforestation project at Vilhelmsborg south of Aarhus.
At NorthSide 2025, festival guests also had the opportunity to support the planting of this forest, which helps strengthen biodiversity and contributes to Denmark’s climate targets. By donating a minimum of DKK 25, participants were entered into a prize draw for tickets and merchandise, collected from a dedicated PostNord parcel locker at the festival site.
Fossil-free biodiesel reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 85 percent
HVO biodiesel, produced from animal-based waste products such as slaughterhouse residues, has played a key role in PostNord’s green transition. In 2020, we converted a large share of our trucks to HVO, which reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 85%.
This transition delivers immediate climate benefits while we continue to develop more sustainable solutions. Today, we still operate on HVO, alongside biogas and electric trucks.
PostNord recognised as a European Climate Leader
For the fourth consecutive year, PostNord has been recognised as one of Europe’s 400 Climate Leaders on the Financial Times and Statista list. The recognition is based on our ambitious climate targets and our commitment to the green transition:
• 40% CO₂ reduction by the end of 2025 (vs. 2020)
• 80% emissions-free last mile by 2030
• Fossil-free operations and transport by 2030
Environmental reports
At PostNord, we work towards a greener supply chain with a focus on responsibility, transparency, and knowledge sharing. That is why we give our business customers access to environmental reports in our customer portal.
The reports provide a valuable tool for documenting your company’s sustainability efforts. Here you can view CO₂ emissions per product, the share of renewable energy, and more. The calculations are based on a bottom-up approach and cover MyPack Home/Collect, Parcel, and Return Drop Off.
PostNord helps reduce the environmental footprint of dental clinics
Together with Plandent and students, PostNord has developed a delivery system that can reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 25% and improve air and water quality. Instead of cardboard boxes, many products are now delivered to Plandent’s customers in reusable bags, which PostNord returns to Plandent. The bags can be used 50–80 times before being recycled.
The result: less waste and a lower environmental impact for dental clinics. Read more here:
